Chilton co-owner, Jen Levin speaks about Shaker furniture in a recent Associated Press article by Katherine Ross, picked up by ABC News and The Washington Post. The article describes a new exhibit at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art entitled "Simple Gifts," exploring Shaker furniture and textiles and their impact.
The Shakers have long had an outsize influence on design and designers. Although they rose to prominence in the 19th century, their furniture, streamlined and functional, conveys a modern sensibility.
The exhibit remains on view through June 25, 2017.
